A Christ follower or Christian is simply a follower of Jesus Christ.
It really is that simple.

walk-with-jesusSimply stated it’s to become a pupil or disciple of Jesus. There is an old Jewish proverb that says it well, “May you be covered in the dust of your Rabbi”. A life spent following Jesus is one where we’d hope to follow him so closely that we’re covered in the dust from his sandals. We were meant to be in a personal walk, or relationship, with Him.

A friendship, a personal relationship, was made possible when Jesus died on the cross. Upon dying on the cross Jesus had paid the price that we could never pay. This is a solution that doesn’t make much sense without understanding the problem.

We’ve ALL turned our backs on God. This is explained in the New Testament in Romans 3:23 “For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Not only do we turn our backs and fall short of God, but the results are a broken relationship. We’re separated and we don’t have the ability to fix it on our own.

The reality is that God cannot ignore this and yet He chose to pay the price on the cross through Jesus. He was a perfect sacrifice taking our place, the righteous for the unrighteous.

Because of His gift we have the opportunity to choose to believe and receive this gift, believe and ignore, or not believe at all. What choice would you like to make?
